What makes the Pet Playgrounds Dog Fence the VERY best fence you can get to keep your dog safe?
Our 1,100 pound break strength Polypropylene Mesh uses a patented process that makes it both incredibly strong and remarkably flexible. The strength prevents your best friend from chewing through and the flexibility stops your dog from climbing over. Traditional fences (like chain link fences) act like ladders – and actually help dogs climb over. Our Dog Fence eliminates that possibility.
What are you looking at? This clip shows how our fence moves when dogs (or predators) try to climb it.
Traditional fences act like ladders – and actually help dogs climb over. Our Dog Fence eliminates that possibility.
We have upgraded our polypropelene mesh, it's EVEN stronger. This new material is currently shipping for all 5, 6 and 7 foot tall dog fences.
RUBBER COATED STEEL WIRE
Our Rubber Coated Welded Steel Wire Mesh is the main component of the dig guard. At 1,800 PSI of break strength, it’s nearly impossible for animals to bite, rip, or tear through. It is easily secured in place by using our ultra-hold ground stakes.
Why is strength so important?
Dogs have powerful jaws, but they don’t just bite. They pull, twist, shake, and use their body weight as leverage. Dog bites can measure upwards of 800psi alone. Now add in the additional force of their body weight plus any movement and the pressure they exert can approach 2000psi. Our fences can withstand 2,900psi, which is perfect for most dogs.
My dog can get through anything!
You know your dog better than we do. If your four legged friend is so relentless that it will spend hours on end chewing, ripping, pulling and tearing anything that stands in its way, then our MAX Strength fences will provide you with the peace of mind you need to be confident that your dogs can’t get loose. Our MAX Strength kit adds a 3rd layer steel mesh making it even more difficult to chew and get through. Our MAX fences are able to withstand up to 4,000psi.
Is this better than chain link?
Absolutely. Chain link fences can only withstand about 1,500psi. That’s about half as strong as our fence. Wood fences are even weaker.
MAX STRENGTH LAYER
(ONLY COMES WITH MAX STRENGTH FENCES)
Our standard Dog Fence Kit has been engineered to withstand up to 2,900 pounds of pressure, which is perfect for most dogs. However there are some breeds (and some individual canine personalities) that seem to chew and destroy just about everything. For these dogs we added a third layer of protection: our 19 gauge, steel, vinyl coated, welded wire mesh. This is used in combination with our two standard fencing materials, enabling the fence to withstand up to 4,000psi of pressure – making it almost impossible for most dogs to bite through.
Our standard dog fence can withstand up to 2,900lbs of pressure per square inch (PSI). Most chain link fences can only withstand 1,000 PSI, wood fences can withstand between 550 - 700 PSI and vinyl fences withstand even less! We’ve seen falling trees that couldn’t even break our fence. It’s THAT strong – but, if you have a relentless canine that will spend hours chewing, ripping, pulling and tearing at anything, our MAX STRENGTH fence is exactly what you need. We added a 19 gauge steel vinyl coated netting material to our existing layers of fencing to provide the ultimate in containment.
Our MAX Strength Dog Fences come in 6 foot and 7 foot options.

One of our dogs is an escape artist and kept escaping our fenced in yard. Over the fence, under the fence, she would find a way to get out to chase the deer running through the woods behind our house. Mostly, we were worried about her safety but it was also very embarrassing. I am a local veterinarian and I was constantly driving through the neighborhood calling for my lost dog. Ah, the irony. I made modifications to our fence every time our dog exploited one of it’s many weaknesses. Our backyard resembled a prison yard, and still our dog managed to find ways to escape. We considered the electric fence but decided against it. Although effective for many pets, I did not think it would be effective for our dog. Her prey drive is just too strong. Also, I simply don’t like the idea of shocking my pet. After an exhaustive search on the internet, we discovered Pet Playgrounds. They were the only fencing company that specifically focused on fencing for dogs and to our surprise, was willing to take a job anywhere in New England (they are based out of Connecticut and we live in Massachusetts). Victor Boemmels was very professional and provided accurate estimates for the work. They allowed me to visit a fence installation for another client (with her permission of course) so I could see their product in person. At installation they were on time (actually early) and worked hard even though it was November and cold. The hard ground didn’t stop them at all. They incorporated my existing fencing and even trees along the fence line with the new fencing and it looks fantastic. This showed creativity and an understanding that all properties are different. It is much more visually appealing than what I had tried to do. In the 6 months since the new fence was installed, there have been ZERO escapes, and believe me, our dog has tried. I am very thankful what Victor and Pet Playgrounds were able to do for us and would recommend them to any pet owner to keep their pet safely in their yard.

We've had our PetPlayground fence for 4 years now and it's the best investment we have made on our new home !! I just pop the dogs out the door and I know they are safe and secure out here in the Coyote, Javelina-infested SouthWest, Added bonus - the 7 foot fence also keeps the deer out of the yard and gardens.

After a long wait, I finally got my backyard fenced in for my dogs last week. I chose a non-electric, low visibility fence by Pet Playgrounds, a local installer here in CT. They ship to anywhere in the US, but are based in West Haven, so we opted to have our fence professionally installed.
Choosing a fence proved to be a hot button issue in my house. My husband wanted chain link or stockade, but I felt those options were too costly. Electric fences are non-obstructive in terms of your view, but they have several cons. Let's look at the traditional options first:
Chain link fence:
This option proved to be very costly. We were quoted on average $6500 to $7000 for 300 linear feet. I also personally dislike the look of chain link fence.
This option also proved to be too costly for us. We were quoted at $5500 for wood stockade fence. Maintenance is an issue as well. Wood rots over time. Vinyl was out of the question in terms of cost.
This option is low cost, and does not obstruct any view. However, there are several cons to electric fences that I have encountered as a pet dog trainer. I have met dogs who are afraid to go out into their yard at all due to the possibility of the shock. I have met dogs who are afraid to leave their yards at all for the same reason, meaning they wouldn't leave the yard at all, not even for a walk. Some wouldn't even get into the car to leave. Electric fences do not keep other animals out of your yard either. Stray dogs, coyotes, etc. can wander in. I have met dogs who were attacked this way. I have also met dogs who have opted to take the shock and cross the electric fence line, because whatever was outside the yard (squirrel, other dog, etc.) was worth it to them. I have also met dogs who have become dog or human reactive from running along the fence line when people or dogs pass by. For these reasons, and because I personally prefer not to use shock collars on my dogs, electric fencing was not an option.
Pet Playgrounds poly fence was the perfect solution. At half the cost of chain link, it was within our budget including installation. The fence is sturdy, and can be installed over any terrain. The fence is designed to stake into the ground with several inches of excess, which prevents digging. The fence is six feet tall, so there’s no worry that a particularly athletic or intrepid dog would jump or climb out. The fence blends in wonderfully with the woods behind our house. We are extremely pleased with the results, and so are our dogs! You can see the fence in the background of the picture below. It blends in, but is sturdy and safe. If you are ready to fence in your yard, I highly recommend Pet Playgrounds!

The Basenjis are LOVING their new yard and we are LOVING our fence from Pet Play Grounds! I love that it’s super secure, dig proof, climb proof, and chew proof PLUS it doesn’t detract from the beautiful scenery. It was the easiest secure fence we have ever installed ourselves....not that it still didn’t take a long time, but 1200 feet of fencing WILL take a long time lol! So happy we are all finally together in our new home. Thank you PetPlaygrounds!! ❤️

Thank you for making it possible to give our husky mix, Milo, the freedom to run in our yard. We adopted this sweet boy thinking he was mostly golden retriever. Boy, were we were surprised to learn that he was almost half husky, but after 4 escapes from our traditional fence which had worked for 3 other dogs (two of them goldens), it was clear that we had an escape artist. We love that our yard is now secure and you can barely see the fence. Thank you!
