Before getting your estimate, you'll need a rough measurement of the perimeter you'd like to fence in. Don't worry — it doesn't need to be perfect! A ballpark number is all we need to get started.
Here are a few easy ways to measure your yard:
- Google Maps Satellite View:
Open Google Maps, switch to Satellite view, right-click your property, and use the "Measure distance" tool to trace your fence line.
- Walk your perimeter:
Count your steps around the area you'd like to enclose. A normal stride is roughly 2.5–3 feet. Multiply your step count for a quick estimate.
- Measuring tape or wheel:
For the most accurate result, walk the boundary with a measuring tape or measuring wheel from your local hardware store.
Once you have your total linear footage, you're ready for Step 2!
