How to Measure by walking - saving thousands & keeping your view
**Walk the Perimeter:** Start by walking the perimeter of the area where you want the fence. Consider the most straightforward path; following a natural shape, straight lines are easy to follow but are not always necessary since the steel cable rails can be hard to see, very much like modern cable deck railings. If you can walk along the path, a fence can likely be installed there.
2. **Count Your Steps:** Measure the distance using your typical walking pace (without using the heel-to-toe method).
3. **Calculate Total Linear Feet:** Multiply the number of steps you took by 2.5 to determine the total linear feet needed for your fence. Fence kits are available in 50-foot increments, making it simple to decide which kit to order. We have helped thousands of people do this alone or with simple local labor, NOT a fence company! its hard to teach an old dog an new trick!
Order within your budget, but remember that at least 200 linear feet is recommended unless you have another fence attached. Use your house as one side of the fence so you don’t isolate your dog (s) from where you are, and you can open the door for in or out. This provides enough space for most dogs to run freely, play fetch, patrol the area, and undergo off-leash training without damaging the grass too much in one spot. Using your house as part of the fence simplifies installation, creates a larger play area, and effectively transforms your yard into a private dog park.
Another quick and easy way to get started, take a short video showing where you want the fence to begin and end. Include a picture of your dog(s) near the proposed line. Within 24 hours, we will respond with a complete plan, cost estimate, and suggestions to simplify the project while keeping it secure and budget-friendly. Please text your video to 203-9881617, and remember to include your street address, as we will use Google Earth to assist with our estimates.
